Bernard Higgins – RIP

Bernard Higgins RIP

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Bernard Higgins who taught at the school for very many years.  His subject was mathematics and he was also a year head for many years.  We understand that his funeral mass will take place at St Paulinus church next Monday, 20th February at 12noon.

Congratulations to SJF students on the best Maths GCSE results EVER!

In 2012 there were the highest ever pass rates at Maths GCSE at St John Fisher. 72% of pupils achieved a C grade or better which is 13.6% above the national average. 71% made 3 levels progress across Key Stages 3 and 4 which is 7% above the national average and 18% achieved an A grade or better, 2% above the national average. All this in the context of falling pass rates at GCSE and the cohort entering the school with levels consistent with national averages. A wonderful achievement!
