CASHLESS CATERING SYSTEM
St John Fisher Catholic High School installed a cashless catering system in November 2009. The system allows us to continue with the development of the school meal service, and provides us with a more efficient faster and ultimately better quality of service.
This is a system that incorporates the latest technology and eliminates the need to carry cash throughout the day thus reducing the risk of loss. It is also biometric so there is no need to carry a card as the system will recognise the thumb of your child at the revaluation pay points and at the tills. On their school visit your child will have placed their thumb on the till point to register with the system. (If any parent objects to this, a pin number can be used to pay).
Any amount of money can be paid into your account, with the money spent on food and drink deducted on a daily basis.
We have two methods of payment options available to you, coin and note payments to the revaluation pay-points, and cheques. All are explained in the information included with this letter. We prefer payment by cheque, made payable to Kirklees Metropolitan Council (KMC), as we find that when parents send students with a £10.00 note, for example, they regularly ask us for change and try and avoid putting the whole amount on to their account.
There will be a daily ‘spend limit’ programmed into the system of £6.50 this can be increased or decreased for an individual student by making a written request to the school catering office.
