October half term marked the 20th SJF Pals Battalion visit to some of the battle sites of WW1 in Belgium and France. Parents of 43 Year 10 students gathered just before midnight to wave their children off on a journey that was to hopefully give them a greater insight to the journey undertaken over 100 years ago by many of the local men. The students’ engagement with the experience was admirable. Many students came back saying that it was a life changing experience that they will never forget. Thank you to Mrs Shepherd, Ms Thompstone, Mr Graham and Mr Fairclough for accompanying them on this very special visit.
